Apex was founded in 2018 by Derek Kowalski, a Red Seal journeyman gas fitter who was frustrated with how outdated the industry was. Phones going to voicemail, no-shows, vague quotes — the same complaints from every customer.
He partnered with a software developer to build their own dispatch and CRM system — one that captured leads 24/7, sent automated ETAs, and followed up with every customer after service. The result was immediate: response times dropped from 4+ hours to under 2 minutes. Revenue doubled in the first year.
Today, Apex runs 6 service vehicles across the Edmonton region, employs 14 certified technicians, and maintains a 4.9-star Google rating across 340+ reviews.
